Meaningful Use Strategic Planning

Maine MSO approaches all consulting engagements with a standard 4 step methodology represented as:

  • Initiate:  First, confirm that there is a mutual understanding of
    • the question to be answered
    • the scope of the project
    • deliverables
    • respective responsibilities
    • due dates
  • Fact Finding:  Second, use a variety of tools to understand the current environment in terms of people, technology, and business rules.  As required:
    • Stakeholder interviews
    • Focus groups
    • Direct observations
    • Technical Analysis
    • Data analysis
    • others
  • Analysis:  Third, from the data collected,
    • enumerate system strengths and weaknesses,
    • Identify the gaps between the current and the desired state
  • Report Results:  Fourth, report back:
    • Describe the question to be answered
    • Enumerate the findings
    • Describe the gap between the current state and the desired state
    • Lay out specific options and recommendations that optimally use organizational resources to meet organizational goals
